Dear Editor:,

I would like to respond to an article published in June 2006 magazine; “Children of Divorce”. One of your readers made a good argument stating that parents shouldn’t stay together for the sake of the children. The reader went into depth about how the parents would argue in front of the children; and later in life that the kids would be confused whether or not if the parents even loved each other. My parents divorce when I was only one year old because my Dad was doing illegal activities. He beg my Mom to stay with him for the future of my sister and I. My Mom made a good decision by getting a divorce; she knew that if they had stayed together that her kids would probably end up in a Foster home. I think married couples, who are having marital issues and can’t resolve them by attending counseling, should separate. Excessive arguing and violence could lead to more damaging psychological problems for the kids if the parents stay together.

Sincerely,
